Step 1: Sign in to blogspot account
- Open your browser. You may use any type of browser. I personally like Firefox and I see it really helps for editing or working on blogspot template.
- Type www.blogger.com in the address bar of the browser.
- When the blogger home page will be loaded, you will find two textbox to login your account. Put your username and password and Sign In to your blogger account.
Step 2: Selecting the blog to edit template
After successfully logged in, you will access Dashboard of your account. Here, you will find all the list of your blogs. Decide adn find the blog which you want to change.
Step 3: Accessing the Layout of your blog template
I think, you decide the blog to edit the template. You will find an option like Layout beside the blog you want to modify. Click on the Layout to access the layout of your blog template.
Step 4: Accessing the actual code of blogger template
You will see a page will be opened where you see several Gadgets. But our task in not with the gadgets. We need to access the code. Actually this page is the graphical view of your blogger template. In the top of the page, you will find several options under Layout. You will find Page Elements, Fonts and Colors, Edit HTMLand Pick New Template options. Click on the Edit HTML to access your blogger code.
Step 5: Expanding Widget Templates
For most of the cases, you need to expand widget templates. By default, you only see the CSS code of your template code i.e. you only see the design code of the template. All the codes are not visible by default. To see all the code you have to click on Expand Widget Templates
By following the above steps you can find the Edit Template code of your blog. Now, you are ready to modify or edit or add all types of code to your blog template.

Dear all, before doing any modification you need to access the html code of your template. Many people can't know about this and they ask me how to do that. To modify any footer section or to change the background colour.. etc. you must have to access the template code.
This page just provides the setp by step solution to accessing the template code for further modification.
So, I mentioned several pages how to access the code of your template to edit your template and then give a link to this page. So, please don't think that this page has any option to change the code. By following this page's instruction, you can easily enter the template code modification stage.

Very nice article. But still it is very unclear how to edit the resulting Template code. The Template code is in XML file. So I'm not sure how to edit this XML file to fit my requirements. It would be nice if someone wrote an article on how to edit this XML file.
